Photorejuvenation is divided into ablative and nonablative. Ablative photorejuvenation is a dermabrasion using carbon dioxide or erbium lasers. In case of ablative photorejuvenation the upper layer of skin is removed, wrinkle correction is performed and post-acne is treated. This method gives good aesthetic results, but it has many unpleasant effects. First of all, the procedure is painful, especially using carbon dioxide lasers. Second, it has a long rehabilitation period. In case of carbon dioxide lasers an erythema can remain for months. Also, removing the upper layer of skin, we also remove melanin, so pigmentation is often changed (often due to overheating during the procedure or during the postoperative period appears hyperpigmentation). After the procedure, it’s necessary to protect skin from influence of ultraviolet radiation.

Unfortunately, nonablative methods, which are offered today by many distributors of lasers and photosystems, can’t offer satisfying results. Generally, we can only hope to reduce cuperosis.
With the appearance of fractional lasers a new method was developed – microablative photorejuvenation. This method achieves an effect which can be compared to ablative methods, but rehabilitation time is significantly reduced.
Still, the traumatic degree of the procedures using fractional lasers is quite high because of the large diameter of the microrays (150μm and more) and long intervals between microrays lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the procedure.

The method of SMA-photorejuvenation (Spatially Modulated Ablation) offered by LINLINE is based on the mechanism of creation of microablation areas with sizes about 50μm. The distance between these areas has the same dimension. As a result, almost the entire skin surface is affected by sparing influence which leads to stimulation of growth of new skin cells in area of epidermis, derma and subcutaneous cellular tissue.
